It's not (only) up to me!

I feel a bit down today. Why? Because I am impatient. I want my goals and dreams to come true YESTERDAY!

There is a season for everything, Solomon said. A time to sow and a time to reap and a wait inbetween. I am still in the sowing season, working hard to get the idea around to everyone that matters. I have no idea who will have open hearts and wallets and who are merely full of empty promises. God knows that and I trust in Him to send the right people my way.

I refuse to beg. I shall work my ass off to make this dream a reality. It is MY dream. God gave it to me and He made it bigger. I have no doubt at all that He will make it mine.

Not my timing

My theme song for this project is "Nothing is Impossible!" by the PlanetShakers. One thing that I can say, though, is that living by faith is not easy.
And the Bible is full of examples of people who wanted to "help" God and who made a royal mess out of things. So how would I know that I'm not falling into that same trap? I won't. That's the problem. More prayer needed, methinks...

A dollar a day

There aren't many things that are as frustrating as reading in a book how two Americans spent a month on holiday in my country from the money they raised by decluttering! I can't afford half the things they did no matter how frugally I live.

Strawberry liqueur

Ingredients:
500g fresh strawberries, washed, hulled and bad bits removed, and cut into pieces.
750 ml vodka or cane spirit
10 whole peppercorns
1 c white sugar

Method
Freeze strawberry bits overnight. It breaks down the cell structure within the fruit.
Put frozen strawberry bits, peppercorns and sugar in a glass jar. Add the bottle of alcohol and mix through.
Leave in a dark, warm place for a weekend, stirring every few hours.
Strain and pour into clean glass bottles. Mature in fridge for about 6 weeks.

The post-mortem begins

My first foray into the world of crowdfunding is almost at an end. It was not a successful campaign by any stretch of the imagination, even though I get to keep what little money it brought in.

I quit this round, so it means I've failed, but as long as I do a proper post-mortem on the campaign and jump right back in after that, it would be a failure forward, not merely a waste of time.

I shall analyze my mistakes and learn from them. Who knows, round 2 might be it!

Serious decluttering starting NOW!

The tribe has spoken. There will be no tolerance whatsoever of any slacking off in this area.

This weekend, my 400 sf apartment will be sorted out! I shall start on one end and go on until everything's done!

I can't believe that I have accumulated so much STUFF over the past 5 years! Well, over the next week, at least half of said Stuff has to be gone! Rubbished, donated or sold.

Finish en klaar!

Learning curves

My first foray into the world of crowdfunding is ... well... interesting! I realised within a day that while a degree in Communication Science has its advantages, I still had a massive amount to learn.

It's all about balance (between too much and too little), timing (that moment when most people are checking their phones), and creating a great network of people who are willing to spread my message, if not contribute themselves!

That said, I can't explain how utterly frustrated I am with what little I have to show for what I think is a lot of effort! Grrr...

Whatever the outcome, this won't be my last campaign. Crowdfunding is the answer to my prayers in many ways.

Too many blonde males

There are much too many blonde males in my life, quite a few that I can imagine being at my side.

The problem is that they're much younger than I am. And I am at the age where I may be mistaken for a cougar.

Back down, Tannie!

Starting Fresh

Firstly a word from our sponsors (hehe):
http://www.amazon.com is the world's biggest online shopping mall. But what very few people know, is that they are also the world's 3rd largest search engine. Not bad, huh?
